HYPERURICEMIA AND ROLE OF MEDICINAL PLANTS: MINI REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Most of population of the world takes herbal drugs as their basic treatment. Researchers have found large number of herbs to treat various acute and chronic diseases. Herbal drugs play a revolutionary role in field of medicine and disease treatment. Herbal drugs play a revolutionary role in field of medicine and disease treatment. Even those diseases in which modern medicine fail to prove its success, herbal medicine cure them completely and prove that herbal medicine is a one of successful method to treat diseases and is a field of great research. So in today age, most of researchers are working on herbal medicine, their extracts, chemical constituents and their pharmacological activities in treatment of various diseases. Hyperuricemia is leading cause of various serious diseases like gouty arthritis and kidney stone and many other diseases. Allopathic treatment is available but there are side effects which restricted long term use of such medicine. Herbal medicines are only medicines which have fewer side effects even in case of long term treatment. So it was necessary to search out those herbs which decrease serum uric acid level for long term use with fewer side effects and which are easily available and are low cost.
