Ayurveda elucidates due importance for the care of mother at every phase of her life especially when it comes to antenatal and postnatal care. There is a detailed descripition of garbini pari-charya, sutika paricharya and rajaswala paricharya. The postnatal period or Puerperium has been termed as ‘Sutika kala”.
