Abstract

A COMPARATIVE CLINICAL STUDY ON THE EFFICACY OF ELADI YOGA AND GUDUCHI SATTVA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ATYARTAVA

ABSTRACT

Atyartava is one of the commonest clinical conditions in women during reproductive age. Atyartava as excessive menstrual bleeding which is associated with body ache, increased flow and foul odor. Atyartava is not mentioned directly as a disease. It is mentioned as a symptom of various Yoni Vyapadas like Asrigdara, Raktayoni, Lohitkshara. Atyartavais similar clinical features of menorrhagia which has menstrual blood loss of more than 80ml. For the present study Eladiyoga and GuduchiSattva have been selected on the basis of references available of Atyartava. Aim and Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of Eladi Yoga in management of Atyartavaand to compare the efficacy of Eladi Yoga with GuduchiSatva. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 cases were selected by simple randomized sampling method as per inclusion criteria of Atyartava. Eladiyoga 2gm and GuduchiSattva 1gm in two divided dose with milk for two consecutive menstrual cycles. Results: Final assessment were analyzed by using student’s paired and unpaired‘t’ test. Both drugs showed statistically significant but Eladiyoga showed highly significant result in cardinal symptom. Conclusion: Eladiyoga had effectiveness in Atyartava. Which was evidenced with the significant result obtained in the assessment parameters in this study.
