A CLINICAL STUDY OF MUSHLIADI CHURNA AND BILVA TAILA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF BADHIRYA

ABSTRACT
Badhirya has been considered as symptom of vataj karna rogas. The badhirya can be correlated with deafness (hearing loss). Hearing loss is impairment of hearing and its severity varies from mild to severe or profound. This research trial is to know the effectiveness of Ayurvedic formulations scientifically. Mushliadi churna has been selected for systemic use which is mentioned in Rasa Rattana Samuchaya and for local use Bilva taila selected which is mentioned in Sushrut samhita and Bhaisajya Ratnawali for the present research work. Clinical study was done in 3 groups with 30 patients out of which 25 patients completed the clinical trial. Duration of trial was two months. Over all
combined result of 25 patients of Badhirya in the trial groups showed that 2 patients cured, 11 patients had mild improvement and 12 had no improvement. No untoward effect of the trial drugs was seen during the study period.
